Comparing Multiple Perspectives
Students discuss a variety of claims about the need for the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. Watch how they compare claims using the thinking routine, Tug-for-Truth.
Using digital technology, Densho provides online access to personal testimonies, historic photographs and documents, an encyclopedia, and teacher resources about the World War II incarceration of Japanese Americans. We encourage students to explore principles of democracy by asking questions, and engaging in conversations about civil liberties. We believe that by knowing about the human costs and consequences of civil rights violations, we are better able to protect the civil rights of all. http://www.densho.org
