Cartageneras are a flamenco style (palo) belonging to the category of the cantas de las minas (songs of the mines) typical of the mining mountains of Cartagena-La Unión. It is the only one of the Cantes Mineros (mining songs) that does not speak of the rural or of work in the mines, traditionally expressing themes of a local and personal nature.
