Building ʔapsčiik t̓ašii - Part 4: Taking an Adaptive Approach

The ʔapsčiik t̓ašii is a 25-kilometre multi-use pathway traversing the Long Beach Unit of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve from Tofino to Ucluelet. The pathway lies in the traditional territories and lands of Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation and Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ.

Environmental, archaeological, and First Nation monitors were always present during the ʔapsčiik t̓ašii construction. They notified workers when they were approaching sensitive areas. Construction crews used this information to adjust the pathway's route accordingly. Find out more at https://parkscanada.gc.ca/pacific-rim-multi-use-pathway.
