dear friend,

happy weekend to you, from a bedroom from Rhode Island, as I attempt to retain good posture in this stiff plastic stool, writing to you. Bambi is lurking right above my screen, as usual- his big eyes demanding dinner. Prairie is atop the cat castle, a round bundle of white as usual.
The sun is almost set, and the warm blue glow outside reminds me that the hours of my day are slipping away as we speak.. I look forward to dinner, which I will have with 2 classmates and I'm heading out to meet them right after this is published.
I've been in a good mood for the last two weeks, and trying hard to be mindful of where I am/ who I am. One might say that it's equally important to remember not just those, but also where we want to go, and who we wish to become. I work with goals both long and short term, the shortest of wish is a simple wish: to live each second to the fullest. I remind myself that if time is only accessible to us as a linear stream of events---
this is a moving present, ticking forward. difficult to fathom, because there is little change.
but in the grand scheme of things, the now- the world that wraps around you, will all be a distant, fading memory before you know it.
I'm a person with quite a keen memory, and very vivid ones at that. But no matter how clearly I can recall my past homes, or the dear people I've spent time with and will never see again- none of it is as real as the now. The world that you can see, touch, feel, smell. Look around, be observant, and really feel yourself planted by gravity in the now..
one day, it can only be imagined, with the help of a photograph at best.
So no matter how scary my deadlines may seem, or how anxious certain challenges make me, I return to this one important mindset.
I hope that you take care, and continue to live your fullest as we transition into fall (and spring, for some of you!) thank you for the support and love, again and again.

I will leave you with that- and hopefully see you tomorrow on our art channel (which I will have to scramble and create tomorrow's sketchbook story for tonight hehe)
