My ex husband couldn't sleep without the television on. He liked westerns. This gave me weird dreams. Sometimes I sleep in front of the tv, but I have a hard time finding just the right movie, that will give me interesting dreams, and not nightmares. Game shows can be good. I used to dream I was winning all that stuff. For people who do sleep with the tv on, or would like to watch something relaxing before they fall asleep, I have put animations and some clips of what happens around my neighborhood, on the original eight hour hypnotic bedtime story.
