Hydrogen-fueled Hyundai Nexo (only emits water vapor and cleans the air while driving)

The benefits of zero-emissions vehiclesare many: reduced traffic noise, no carbonemissions, and no exhaust fumes. But SouthKorean carmaker Hyundai is adding onemore benefit to the list with its zero-emissionshydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the NEXO,which isalready open for order in Australia.
The fuel cell SUV, which has a range ofover 650km, is fitted with an advanced airpurification system, which is designed topurify the dirty emissions of other petrol anddiesel vehicles as it drives. The heavy-dutyfilter system of the NEXO removes 99.9% ofthe damaging PM2.5 fine particulate matterfrom polluted air-the same particulate matterthat has been labeled the cause of death for1 in 10 children globally by a damning reportreleased by the World Health Organisation.
A three-step process begins with 97% ofparticles being removed via an air filter,muchthe same as in an ICE vehicle. More particlesare then absorbed by a humidifier, andlastly, a specialized carbon fiber filter with amicrospore structure removes the remainingultrafine particles, leaving air that is 99.9percent pure.For every hour that the NEXO ison the road, 26.9 kilos of air is purified, saysHyundai-the same amount of air that 42adults would breathe in the same period oftime.
