Russian Film Days take place in Tehran to expand cultural ties

The opening ceremony of the Russia Film Days event took place in Tehran with the attendance of Russian directors and producers, on Saturday.

Tonikh Valeri Ivanovich a Russian film producer said its main object for participation in the festival is to expand Russian culture and familiarized Iranian through the movies. He also said he looking forward to the expansion of cultural ties with Iran and he is in Iran to negotiate projects with the Iranian side.

The other Russian delegation said Iran and Russia are following up on the same object to produce moral and spiritual movies rather than making movies just for being on top at the box office.

Iran and Russia have expanded their ties in various fields in recent years including cultural cooperation. Cinema and TV productions are preeminent fields of cultural affairs. Expanding collaborations in these fields would bring not just the governments of Russia and Iran close to gathering more than ever, but their people too.
