Outremont Metro Station reopened after months of renovations 🔵 A look inside and outside 🚇

Outremont Metro Station has reopened on the Blue Line of the Montreal Metro 🔵

Closed since January 10, 2022, the metro station finally reopened on Friday, August 21, 2022 after major renovations took place.

The work consisted of the following, according to the STM:

- Installing three elevators in the station.
- Refurbishing the structural slab.
- Relocating the fare booth and turnstiles.
- Replacing the waterproofing membrane of the station’s underground roof.
- Replacing the exterior covering, windows and floor finishes.
- Enhancing the lighting.
- Installing new signage.
- Adding motorized butterfly doors.
- Replacing the entrance building roof.
- Adding a natural ventilation shaft on the entrance building roof.

Even though the metro station has reopened, there is still plenty of work to complete, including installing the new elevators, which is expected to be finished in late 2023

Here is a list of work still being carried out both inside and outside, without interrupting metro service. Once again, according to the STM.

-Installing the elevators.
- Refurbishing the Wiseman entrance structural slab.
- Adding a natural ventilation shaft on the entrance building roof.
- Upgrading the electrical equipment.
- Replacing the station’s roof.
- Replacing the exterior covering, windows, floor finishes and lighting.
- Installing new signage.
- Completing the art restoration.
