Crazy ’Bout Ya Baby - The Crew-Cuts (DES Stereo from mono)
Formed in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in 1952, the Crew-Cuts were a white vocal quartet that had success in the early 50s by covering black R&B songs. Their first recording, an original composition called ‘Crazy ’Bout Ya Baby’, made the Top 10 in the US charts. Their version of ‘Sh-Boom’, originally a number 2 R&B hit for the Chords in 1954, became a number 1 pop hit for the Crew-Cuts, staying in that position for nine weeks and helping to usher in the rock ‘n’ roll era.
