Mole catching with a new diesely smelling Duffus mole trap

Some people say you have to 'weather' mole traps to remove the smell of the oil from manufacturing. Plus your hands shouldn't smell of any soap, scent etc. I think this is bollocks, a mole ain't worried if it smells of anything. All the mole is after is worms and any other insects that are in its run. This is why I've used a new trap and I had gotten diesel on my hands, and we all know how that stinks.
