This is just my way of doing it. I find if you try all orientations of fitting the scope mounts you'll have one set up that'll mean you need minimal clicks to actually get the scope on zero. And if the rifle is spot level and you can see the cross hairs are spot on level, due to them being level with a spirit level, you know that all perimeters have been covered.
