The Monkees Headquarters' 2022 Super Deluxe Edition Unboxing

This Super Deluxe set stands as the first with 4 CD's & a Remix from the original master tapes of The Monkees Headquarters'! Meticulously done by Andrew Sandoval who has been a thorn in Rhino Records side to keep The Monkees vibrant and fresh even at the time of this set, 55 years later! So all of the credit goes to Andrew!

Disc 1- A "reworking" if you will of the sometimes "brash" sounding original mix of "Headquarters". No blame to Chip Douglas! The blame is in the technology of the time!

Just ask Giles Martin and the remixing he did on "The Beatles Revolver"! He had the incredible help of "de-mixing" from filmmaker Peter Jackson who did the "Get Back" film series.

Andrew had no help! I had already owned the original 1967 LP, The 1989 Arista CD Remix by Bill Inglot & Ken Perry, 1995 Rhino Original Classics CD which stuck closer to the 1967 mix. The Rhino 2000 3-CD Headquarters' Sessions CD set and the Rhino 2007 2-CD Deluxe Edition by Andrew Sandoval & Bill Inglot. All very different in many ways. So, when the mention of a "Super Deluxe Edition", I'll admit, I was hesitant!
What else could there be?

At the time of this article, I am half way through Disc 2 and my jaw is on the floor! Missing tapes and acetates and alternate versions galore! Along with multiple backing tracks!

Discs 2,3 & 4 Sessions From January, February, March & more!

Including the absolute original jams of "The Girl I Knew Somewhere" & "All Of Your Toys". Yes, they lack in sound quality but....seriously?
If you are a Monkees fan like myself, these are golden nuggets!

I cover the tchotchke's and booklet in the video but there are less than 1000 left of the original 4000! (as of 11/26/22)
