Longest Domestic Cat

The longest living domestic cat in the world is a Maine Coon from Vigevano, Italy named Barivel. Barivel is almost 4 feet long and is long enough to cover his owner’s entire torso. The name “Barivel” means jolly in Italian, but Barivel is a shy cat overall. Maine Coons are the largest known breed of domestic cats, so it’s no surprise that it was a Maine Coon that ended up breaking the record for the largest cat. The previous record-holder was also a Maine Coon named Ludo, who was around 3 feet and 10 inches long.

Largest Elephant

The largest known elephant species is the African bush elephant, which is actually also the largest land animal in the world as well. These elephants can be as much as 9 feet in height and weigh as much as 9 tonnes. The largest within this group itself was an elephant that was found in Angola, which was 13 feet high, which was almost unheard of even among African bush elephants, and it weighed more than 11 tonnes! Many of these elephants are under the constant threat of poaching because of the illegal ivory trade.
