When anyone mentions “birds of prey,” eagles are definitely one of the first to pop up in your mind! And it’s not entirely for good reasons. Sure, eagles are symbolic of power, strength, courage, and focus, but they can also be pretty nasty if messed with. With a height reaching up to 9 feet tall, ostriches are pretty much the largest living birds known to man! They might also be some of the cutest animals you’ve ever seen, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that you never want to enrage an ostrich in your life! Well, not unless you have a death wish, of course. Depending on the season, ostriches might be found individually, in pairs, in small flocks, or even in large aggregations.

When together in a group, they can be pretty brutal if they deem you an enemy! Would you believe a cornered ostrich has the capability of delivering a kick that can literally kill a lion or other large predators? That’s right! And they can even achieve a speed of up to 45 miles per hour when they’re in their combative mode. But luckily, most attacks are only a result of humans provoking the birds, so make sure you know where to draw the line!
