This is the first show of Queen's final tour. Freddie Mercury's failing health would soon make touring impossible, and so they went out with a bang, playing stadiums and amphitheaters all around Europe. After Live Aid, the band had a resurgence in both their attitudes and their popularity. Queen became the talk of the town again, and the band began to cooperate more in and out of the studio. This change is heard in their playing, as they are much more passionate in their performances than they were on The Works Tour, or even the back end of the Hot Space Tour. Freddie's voice is in very good shape on this first show, and besides maybe three or four shows, he would remain strong for the entire tour. The band have also regained some of that musical creativity that they had lost for most of the 80s and play around on songs like Another One Bites the Dust, One Vision, the Impromptu, and the acoustic set. For this concert's setlist, the band have gone a bit haywire and put Bohemian Rhapsody in the first half of the show. This is the only show where it would be this early in the set, and it would soon return to it's regular position on all following shows. Friends Will be Friends has also not been added to the set yet, so this is the last time the band would encore with We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions back-to-back.
