The Queensland premier and the chief health officer 'lied': Murray

Sky News host Paul Murray says in Queensland "the future governor lied, the premier lied" and it shouldn't surprise you.

The remarks come amid conflicting statements made by Queensland Health and the state government regarding returned Australian Anthony McCormick.

Anthony McCormick flew into Sydney from Canada and put forward an exemption request to Queensland Health to finish his hotel quarantine in the state so that he could see his mother one last time.

She, however, passed away before Mr McCormick could see her.

The Queensland government and the "future governor" Dr Jeannette Young have maintained throughout the ordeal that they were doing everything possible in order to get him the exemption to enter the state.

Mr McCormick, however, provided an email to Sky News from Queensland Health denying his exemption request in contradiction to the state government's comments.

"The future governor lied, the premier lied. Does this surprise you? No," Mr Murray said.

"These people are all politics and no heart."
