Where Is She? (Soft Surrender) - Third Version (Guitar) - The Killers - Live Hot Fuss Tour

This is based on how it sounds like Dave Keuning played the third variation of this song.

The guitar is in standard tuning.

This version of Where is She? comes from a good audio recording at the Arena, Vienna, Austria, on 25th February 2005.

It’s probably the most ‘rock’ version, changing the barre chords from the early versions into damped and accented power chords, during the initial verses.
The whole song appears to be played with overdrive as well, rather than switching between clean and driven amp settings.

The picked part after the first chorus, is now closer to its definitive version, although ends on a slightly odd final note.

The delay pedal is also used a bit more in this version, including during the unison bend and first round of octave playing. I don’t think it’s used the second time around, but it’s difficult to tell, as the synth is more prominent.
Also, note use of the delay tail repeats to good effect, when switching from the opening riff to the first verse and also, to end the song.

Guitar-wise, I assume Dave used his Cherry Gibson ES-335 Dot, the same as the two previous versions.

I’m using a 2004 Cherry Gibson ES-335 Dot.

Delay is coming from a Boss DD-6. Dave will have used a DD-3, or DD-6.
