Gospel Legend Passes Away at 60
Gospel Legend, LaShun Pace has passed away at age 60. The family of the singer announced that the former member of the Grammy-nominated group, The Anointed Pace Sisters has passed away on the 21st March, 2022.

Pace began her career as a singer, as a part of the aforementioned group of which she was an integral part along with her other eight sisters – Phyllis, June, Melonda, Dejuaii, Leslie, Latrice, Lydia and Duranice.
The group of sisters became a gospel sensation in the 1970s performing in churches and local talent shows.

Pace later began a solo career touring with Rev. Gene Martin and the Action Revival and recording an album with Dr. Jonathan Greer. Her solo career continued with the release of her debut album – He Lives in 1990 and the breakout song titled I know I’ve been changed. She went on to release more albums and songs including the song that gained recent TikTok fame – Act Like You Know. She was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame in 2007. In January 2015, LaShun and the Anointed Pace Sisters were honored in their hometown of Atlanta with the 16th Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards.

The Family announced the passing of the Gospel Legend on Monday morning via their official Facebook page – “It is with deep sorrow that the Pace Family announces the transition of LaShun Pace. From Labor to Reward”.

Her sister Lydia Pace has revealed that the singer-songwriter has been on kidney dialysis for the past five years at a Metro Atlanta hospital and would later die there due to Organ Failure.

She also revealed that following the recent fame of her hit song – Act Like You Know, LaShun had been excited and been encouraged to work on a new album.

Another of the sisters, Latrice Pace mourned her sister’s death on Instagram. She wrote – “It is with great difficulty that I share with you that my sister Tarian LaShun Pace made her transition on this morning, March 21,2022.

Please keep us and her daughter Aarion Mychkiel Rhodes in prayers.” She further asked for privacy for the family as they mourned ‘another devastating blow’.
This is the third loss for the family in the past two years.

The Family recently lost the matriarch of the family, Pastor Betty Anne Pace in July, 2020. She was 80 years old when she passed. And more recently, they lost the eldest sister of the family and another member of the Anointed Pace Sisters, Duranice Pace in January 2021 at age 62.

Many have taken to Facebook and other online platforms to express their condolences and show their support for the family including prominent gospel musician Donnie McClurkin who was on his flight back from a concert in Ghana, Africa when he got the news.

LaShun Pace survived by her seven sisters and an adult daughter.
