Photographing Butterflies on my Birthday | Learning to use a Macro Lens

I’ve been photographing macro images with my mobile phone for years, but using a macro lens on my DSLR is still relatively new to me.
It is hot in Texas this time of year, so when my husband asked me what I’d like to do for my birthday, I told him that something indoors would be nice and getting to take loads of photos would be nice too! So off to the butterfly house we went, luckily for my all-boy-family they had a snake festival there at the same time, so while they were being entertained by snakes swallowing mice, I got to enjoy a carefree walk amongst these gorgeous winged creatures!
