Smash Burgers In An Ooni Koda 16 Take Two

Today we made Smash Burgers in our Ooni Koda 16 Outdoor Pizza Oven Take 2 and cooked them on the Ooni Dual Sided Grizzler plate. The oven has preheated for 15 minutes on high before toasting the buns and cooking the Smash Burgers. We prepared two 2-ounce balls of ground meat. I used lean but 80/20% is preferable. We used a heavy pot wrapped in heavy duty aluminum foil to smash the burgers that took just minutes to cook. The Smash Burgers were topped with Kraft Deli Deluxe American Cheese.

A sauce of mayonnaise mixed with catsup was used as a topping. Adding the usual toppings of tomato, onion, lettuce are a plus.
