Quadrotor Biplane VTOL Crash

This is a quick video just for fun to show some crash footage I got a while back of my quadrotor biplane RC VTOL plus a little bit of information about why I'm working on it.

Extensive testing and development on the quadrotor biplane platform has been carried out at the Alfred Gessow Rotorcraft Center at the University of Maryland. This type of vehicle configuration offers unique advantages: a small footprint, vertical flight capabilities, high payload capacity, and long endurance forward flight. Vehicles have been built from the sub-micro scale all the way up to 20lb class vehicles. Stability in hover is achieved similarly to a conventional quadrotor through RPM of the rotors. In forward flight, control can be maintained through rotor RPM inducing moments on the vehicle alone, though augmenting this with additional control surfaces provides additional redundancy.
