Based on designs from the 1930’s, the new-production YMF-5 Super is the successful fusion of classic and contemporary. Using traditional and modern methods, these airplanes are still crafted by hand in Battle Creek, MI – and can be entirely personalized from the ground up. These new sport biplanes are the only FAA & EASA Certified aircraft of their kind, and are also approved for commercial ride operations.

Pilot and passenger comfort has been brought into the 21st century by adding amenities such as Enlarged Heated Cockpits, Adjustable Pilot’s Seat, Adjustable Rudder Pedals and Integrated Steps/Handles for effortless entry and exit. Safety and reliability have also been enhanced with the use of Synthetic Fabric Covering, Aluminum Fuselage Side-Skins, LED Lighting, Emergency Locator Transmitters, ADS-B In/Out, Stainless Steel Exhaust System, Maintenance-Free Torque Tube Elevator Trim System and 4130 Steel Fuselage Frame.

Hidden under the timeless bumped cowling is a zero-time Jacobs 7-cylinder radial engine which produces 300 horsepower – now with a 1400 hour TBO. Standard equipment includes a fixed-pitch wooden prop – a composite constant-speed propeller is also available for increased performance and enhanced efficiency. With up to 73 gallons of fuel capacity, you can expect over 5 hours of operation between refueling.

These convertible bi-wing aircraft offer luxurious accommodation for up to 3 individuals – The pilot sits in the rear and 2 passengers ride up front. The heated dual-cockpits can be outfitted with premium leather upholstery, teak & holly flooring and custom Garmin avionics (VFR or IFR). The exterior can be designed to your liking – whether you are looking for a traditional look or a complete custom modern design. The new paint system allows for improved customization with finish options such as metallic, pearl, and matte - the possibilities are endless.
