Tank vs Haney: Who Wins?

Gervonta "Tank" Davis's coach, Calvin Ford, thinks that Devin Haney should stay at 135 pounds and fight Tank for the money instead of going up to 140 pounds and fighting in a class with a lot of fighters. Ford says it makes sense for undisputed champion Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) to stay at 135 pounds for the fight against Gervonta because he could have trouble if he goes up to 140.
After his close win over Vasyl Lomachenko last Saturday, Haney wants to fight Gervonta next. However, it would be hard for his promoters at Top Rank to set up this fight because of marketing and network problems. Top Rank would probably rather put Haney up against Shakur Stevenson, but since Devin ran out of the ring when Stevenson tried to call him out last Saturday, it seems clear that he doesn't want to fight him.
"Tank and I have a huge fight. "Sooner or later, it's going to happen," said Devin Haney last Saturday. "They should have put it on paper. Gervonta's manager, Calvin Ford, told MillCity Boxing that nobody really did anything in the tenth round of last Saturday's fight between Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko. It's not clear if Ford saw the fight or not, but Lomachenko's 10th round was one of his best.
"They were right. I thought they were going to steal from Devin," said Ford, whose opinion of the Haney vs. Lomachenko fight is different from that of the fighting world. "He's a boxer who is younger and has more chances. She's 35.
It was a good fight for people to buy on pay-per-view. One thing is certain. Tank is not ready for him. I had it as a tie on my tally. In the first part of the fight, I thought Devin did well. “I didn't see anything from anyone in the last round, but the judges thought that Devin did better than Loma.
Devin's team is saying, "F**k 135,' and Tank at 135 is the only person who could change their minds. If they're willing to take that chance, they're going to 140.
If I were on their team, I would say, "I'm up against Tank. Get that paycheck and move on. That 140 is really getting deep.Tank got them all to leave 135. "Leave this place." I'm like this. We [Gervonta] make 135 real good. Why must we go up to 140? We bring in the money. I'll get them to come to me.
"Top Rank told him to do that. When asked what he thought about Shakur Stevenson calling out Haney last Saturday night, Ford said, "It's easier to make the fight." "There's a lot that goes into making big fights like that.
"That was bad, but that's Bill [Haney] for you," Ford said when asked what he thought about Haney jumping out of the ring as soon as Shakur entered it last Saturday night to call him out. Bill is at his best there."
