The LX Factory in Lisbon calls our name in this week’s video. With street art and more than 50 shops, restaurants, coffee shops and bars waving us in to explore, we just had to see what the LX Factory was all about.

In 1846 the Company of Wiring and Fabricos Lisbonense, opens a beautiful factory in the district of Alcântara Lisbon, know today as LX Factory.

This tiny “factory city” that is almost 200 years old is now ra vibrant cultural food and shopping experience. The LXFACTORY is a creative island occupied by companies and industry professionals that have been the scene of a diverse range of events in the fields of fashion, advertising, communication, multimedia, art, architecture, music, etc. generating a dynamic that has attracted countless visitors to re-discover this area of Alcântara. 

We also explore one of the top 20 most beautiful bookstores in the world, Ler Devagar. Ler Devagar is a bookshop (for new and second-hand books), library, temporary exhibition gallery, permanent exhibition gallery for ‘Objectos Cinemáticos’ by Pietro, auditorium, ‘Ouvir Devagar’ music shop (for Lusophone music CDs), restaurant (Malaca Too), cake shop (‘O Bolo da Marta’) and bar (‘Beber Devagar’).

After filling our bellies with delicious Mexican food at the Mex Factory we unearth a true gem of Lisbon’s LX Factory. We never thought we’d discover the “World’s Best Chocolate Cake” tucked away in this hipster paradise. Seriously! We have taken in tons of chocolate cake in the buffets of Las Vegas for the last 25 years, so why did this piece of cake rock our taste buds so much that we couldn’t stop talking about it?
