Talk Talk Oyster Cult - It's My Reaper's Life

Mark Hollis and Buck Dharma formed the supergroup Talk Talk Oyster Cult barely two weeks after the acrimonious split of Blue Oyster Smiths. Despite a verbose and somewhat melancholy handwritten note from Morrissey begging the band to use a less similar name, the group would release the stellar single "It's My Reaper's Life" to rave reviews from fans and critics. When their ensuing LP "The Spirit of Eden on Flame with Rock and Roll" failed to live up to the promise of their debut single, the group called it quits. Though the band was short-lived, "Reaper" remains a '70s bar-band guitar crunch prog-rock '80s synth dream-pop radio favorite.
