Crazyclimber80's HOW TO BEAT STOCKER video!

Hey folks! I'm kind of having fun with these specialty videos-- where I don't do straight up reviews of an arcade game-- though this one was reviewed earlier as part of my "20 From 1984" series. This time around I will show you how to beat the game! Yes, there is a way to do it, but you must use all manner of short cuts-- driving through grass, dirt, hell, even water!-- in order to reach the finish line in California before your fuel runs out. And watch out for those cop cars who got their license from a Cracker Jack box; touching them nets you a ticket (and lost time), and 3 tickets gives you a big, fat, hairy GAME OVER! Fuel is the most important thing to worry about, though; but fortunately on the path I've shown you in this video you will encounter 2 gas stations to refuel (a little bit) at. Note also that you are ALWAYS in motion unless you run into a wall or are pulled over by coops. There is no gas pedal! You have a high and low gear shift. For HIGH gear, use it on open roads ALL THE TIME! Fuel is very precious and moving fast gets you that much closer to your goal. For LOW gear, use this every time you go offroad (which is super often) or just dodging cop cars (which is good to know, due to how kamikaze they can drive). I admit I gleaned many tips from existing YouTube videos concerning how to beat Stocker, but around half of the short cuts I learned on my own since my last Stocker video. I just wanted to go a bit more in-depth as to what the game is about, familiarity with the controls, the super-important "warps", and whatnot. So in all there are 37 total screens on the STOCKER map that you can drive through, but you will only need to traverse 26, thanks to two warps-- one is 3 screens from where you begin (and warps you a few screens closer to your goal; the other is a bit further ahead after the warp and this a handful of screens closer to your goal. By the way, the basic goal is to get from Florida to California before your fuel runs out or the cops nab you for 3 tickets. With my directions in this video you will only need to encounter 2 gas stations; the second of which is very close to the goal. When you reach the last screen you will touch the finish line from behind (!) to beat the game. If you get frustrated trying to follow this and can't reach the finish line, DON'T get too upset-- it just takes practice. The limited fuel and stupid cops are annoying; trust me, I know. You probably won't finish in time right away, even with my directions. It just takes time and a basic understanding of the game, and if you have a creative bone in your body, drawing a bit of a map. Just be patient, and you will eventually reach the finish line! Best of luck!
