JYOTI: The Girl from Varanasi, India, which is the first book of the series "Children from Around the World", takes the reader on a trip to the city of Varanasi. There we meet Jyoti, a nine-year-old, and her family. We will discover what her city is like, how she spends her time, what she likes to eat, and the traditions of her family, community, and country.

On February 2022, when the borders of India opened after COVID lockdown, After 20 years I went back to visit Varanasi and decided to look for Jyoti.The main character of my children’s book. I have lost her contact but still knew her mother’s name Nirmala Sahani, my friendly and helpful driver "Momen Das” (I recommend if you are looking for a driver in Varanasi) he went to look for her in the Ghats. He found out that Jyoti's mother had passed away but that her sister still has a stand on the Ahilyabai Ghat, a smaller ghat next to the Dasharwamedth ghat, the main one. I went to look for her there to give her the book and was very glad to find out that she is happily married with a one-year-old child.
