Sunday afternoon, Peaceful protest. Police removed and arrested "Just Stop Oil" protesters blocking traffic on Picadilly Circus. The police were very polite, and some of them were having fun dealing with the protesters.
The environmental protest group has been blocking roads in central London as part of a renewed campaign to pressure the government to take action on the climate crisis. Demanding that the UK Government immediately halt all future licensing and consents for the exploration, development, and production of fossil fuels in the UK. Footage shows several protesters sitting in the middle of a busy junction in Piccadilly Circus wearing fluorescent vests and holding large banners displaying the name of their group.

Dozens of environmental protesters have blocked central London roads for a seventh day, continuing a week of disruptive action that has led to more than 100 arrests. They glued themselves to the road and displayed banners.

Just Stop Oil, which earlier this year staged weeks of direct action against oil terminals, has vowed to “occupy Westminster” with daily roadblocks until the government agrees on a moratorium on all new oil and gas projects. Their latest direct action came as the government opened up a new licensing round to allow oil and gas companies to explore fossil fuels in the North Sea. On Friday, the North Sea Transition Authority offered 898 blocks of the UK seabed for exploration.
Despite overwhelming, longstanding international concern about the impact that the continued burning of fossil fuels is having on the world’s climate, Graham Stuart, the climate minister, on Friday morning said the development would be “actually good for the environment.”

"Given that the entire world economy relies on oil for energy – and oil is used for thousands of products and heavy machinery – this anti-oil movement would result in the breakdown of civilization to a neo-feudalism state, which, not surprisingly, is the actual goal of the Great Reset: to make the population poorer and less able to travel freely."

"In short, oil isn’t just used for travel, but it’s also used as a more efficient alternative to human labor, given all the heavy machinery running on oil that’s far more efficient than thousands of laborers. Not to mention the thousands of products that are made using oil, such as medical equipment."

“Much of the medical equipment used today, many of which are life-saving devices, is made from oil,” writes the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers. “Are Not only heart valves and artificial limbs made from petroleum but also much of the cleaning and safety products medical personnel use.” “Aspirins and other pharmaceuticals also contain petroleum.”

"That’s not to say there isn’t an argument for the safe and effective use of oil, but to ban oil outright would simply further empower the world’s elite at the expense of the rest of the population, given how oil has led to the creation of a vibrant middle class."
