Lexus SC300 / SC400 Z30 Drift. Budget Supra for Drifting.

Toyota Soarer in Japan and Lexus SC in other markets, it is a luxury coupé produced by Toyota and was for sale between 1991 and 2000.

In the early 1990s, Lexus launched the SC Z30 model to compete with other luxury GT coupés from other brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW or Jaguar…

The Lexus SC platform was used to develop Toyota's next generation Supra, The well-known MK4 Supra, both vehicles were manufactured in the same plant and shared many components such as: engines, braking system, electronics, transmission, also subframes were near-identical.

Since the Supra is one of the most popular tuner cars, the aftermarket parts shared between the two cars made the Lexus SC popular among motor enthusiasts as well (including drifters).
While the Toyota Supra achieved incredible popularity and prices escalating at insane rates, the Lexus SC is a far cheaper alternative.

With sleek yet subtle sports car style, fantastic handling, reliable drivetrain, and Front engine and Rear wheel drive configuration, this Lexus also was used in the drift scene.
The long wheelbase and high weight enables the car to remain stable during drifting, especially in transitioning from one direction to another.

Luxury goodies like premium leather, flawless sound-deadening, a stylish interior or heated memory seats made this car very heavy. If you decide to rip the luxury goodies out, you can take a lot of weight off and the car becomes even more competitive for drifting.

This car had several engines. The Lexus SC300 was equipped with the famous 2JZ engine, but in a naturally aspirated form, producing 225 hp. The SC400 equipped a 4-liter V8 producing around 260 hp. In Japan, the Toyota Soarer also was available with the 1JZ-GTE inline-6 turbo engine producing 280 hp in stock form and it’s very tuneable for more power.

In conclusion, it is a very comfy car if you want a daily car or you can turn it into a drift weapon since it has good drift characteristics and many aftermarket parts.
