Jewish Merchants of Santa Fe: The Twentieth Century Golden Age
Jewish merchants have been in Santa Fe since the late 1840s, and in the twentieth century the major downtown businesses were owned and operated by Jewish families. They were the Blatts, Petcheskys, Silvers, Ballens, Gans, Kahns, Spitz, Seligmans, Goodmans, Rosens, Taicherts, Bells, Golds, and others. This is the story about those families and Jewish life in Santa Fe at the time.
