How Much Does it Cost to File a Bankruptcy in Atlanta?
Attorneys fees charged by Atlanta area bankruptcy lawyers generally fit within a common range. High volume or less experienced lawyers charge a little less, while more experienced, client focused lawyer charge a little more.
Like anything else in life, you get what you pay for.
As I discuss in this video, one thing is certain - the cost of filing bankruptcy has gone up over the years. When I (Jonathan) first started working with personal bankruptcy clients, the court filing fee was $60 and attorney’s fees for either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 were less than $1,000.
Currently, the filing fee for Chapter 7 is $335 and the filing fee for Chapter 13 is $310. Attorney’s fees depend on the complexity of your case. Congress is not helping - just last year they “updated” the official bankruptcy forms and added dozens of pages of disclosure. The average bankruptcy petition now amounts to almost 100 pages.
Ginsberg Law Offices charges much less than high overhead “downtown” law firms. However, we are not a high volume “bankruptcy mill” nor are we new to personal bankruptcy representation.
If you have been struggling with debt problems, you would be wise to learn more about how bankruptcy can give you a fresh start. Ginsberg Law has been advising and counseling hardworking, but unfortunate, Atlanta area clients for over 20 years. We’d be happy to meet with you for some straight talk and valuable information.
