Building a Curbless Shower - Framing and Plumbing ---Grandpa Bath Ep 3
In this episode we show how we build a curbless shower when we are on a raised subfloor.
We also changed the water supply lines from 1/2" galvanized to Uponor Pex, and the waste lines from cast iron to ABS.
Over time, rust develops in old galvanized piping that inhibits water flow. By Changing out to PEX we can get much better flow and pressure.
The existing drain pipe was 1-1/2 for a tub, and showers require a 2" waste line. It is much easier to do in ABS or PVC plastic so we convert it with a rubber coupling.
