5. SOUNDBITE (English) Alex Sherman, father of kidnapped person:
"I want to believe that everyone is doing the maximum they can, as they told, to bring our families back. I want to believe - I'm not sure. I want my army to press on Hamas as much as they can, and not give them a second of peace until our sons, our fathers, our mothers, and grandmothers, and grandfathers are back home. Meanwhile, I hope that everyone is doing everything they can - even if I don't know about that - to make some kind of negotiation so to release everyone home."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Maya Shoshani-Moshe, mother of kidnapped person:
"I'm here today, and for the last 27 days because my mother, Adina Moshe - this is she, she's 72-years-old - she was kidnapped from her house in kibbutz Nir Oz four weeks ago. And this is my father, Said David Moshe. He was murdered during this Saturday trying to protect her and he couldn't, because the terrorists killed him, and they took my mother along with a lot of people from her kibbutz, kibbutz Nir Oz. More than 100 people from the kibbutz are either killed or kidnapped and I'm here today to shout to our government, and for all the world: bring them back today."

STORYLINE:
Some families of the Israeli hostages taken by Hamas in October set up camp in Tel Aviv on Saturday, calling for their return.

Maya Shoshani-Moshe, whose mother was kidnapped, was among the people camping near The Kirya in the center of the city.

"I'm here today to shout to our government, and for all the world: bring them back today," she said.

At least 242 hostages were taken from Israel into Gaza by Hamas militants on 7 October.

The Palestinian death toll in the Israel-Hamas war has reached 9,448, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza.

In the occupied West Bank, more than 140 Palestinians have been killed in violence and Israeli raids.

The UNRWA says 72 of its staff members have been killed.

More than 1,400 people in Israel have been killed, most of them in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack that started the fighting.
