So this week I want to talk about Streaming, specifically I want to talk about the theory of the First Follower from leadership also comes into play with your Streaming.

So, while you may have the camera, the microphone, and the Twitch Channel, you are not the most important person in your streaming set-up. The first person to follow you, your “First Follower” actually has as much, if not more, influence than you do. Without that first follower, you are just a person talking into a microphone to exactly zero people.

The idea of the first follower was first presented to me in Officer Training School. It comes from a guy named Derk Sivers.

Being a streamer and being a leader have a lot in common. Sure, you can look up all the tips & tricks you want about growing on Twitch, but until you get that first follower none of it is going to work.

Focus on doing whatever you need to do to get those first few followers, and you can do this with friends, family, guild mates, and well your phone. If you are too embarrassed to tell your friends and family that you are streaming, well that's a totally different issue.
