The first time I heard of Grant Cardone was on the Bigger Pockets Podcast five years ago. At that point I had listened to every episode and he was by far the most entertaining. He was so good at capturing your attention and he had no filter.

After the podcast I went out and bought the 10X Rule. I enjoyed different aspects of the book. The premise was essentially that you needed to think 10x bigger than what you currently think. If you aim high, you probably won’t hit it but you’ll be very happy with the results. There is nothing crazy about this idea but he took it to an extreme saying to 10x your goals. The thought of going from 100 house flips a year to 1000 a year is CRAZY! But it gets you thinking different about what needs to be done to achieve that. And even if I “only” got to 400 flips a year, that would be well worth it. My first experience with Uncle G was good after reading that book.

The next experience was going to his 2018 10X Growth Con in Las Vegas, NV. It was in my hometown so it was super easy to go to. My friend Nick bought me a $7000 ticket to sit in the second row. Crazy expensive, but I’m grateful he did. Being able to go back stage, network, and be around big players was great. During the event I also got to see some amazing speakers. It was my first time watching Tai Lopez and Russell Brunson. I ended up buying their products and spending thousands. I will do a video on those as well. But overall I was very satisfied with my experience at Growth Con.

The next thing I bought was Cardone U. This was my first negative experience. I spent around 6-7k for the sales training program. I wasn’t very impressed with it. It had a lot of content which Cardone looked 20 years younger. I don’t know how long he’s been selling that program for, but it didn’t look like much changed. There was a lot of repetition and I just didn’t vibe with it. It’s not to say it doesn’t work, but I just didn’t like it.

That was the last product I bought from GC. Overall after following him for 5+ years, I admire what he’s been able to accomplish as a marketer, entrepreneur, real estate investor, and influencer. Watching him has given me some strategies on how to sell products and raise money for his apartments and multi family. I don’t agree with half the things he says, but there is value.

That’s the lesson here. You don’t need to agree with someone 100%. There is a lot you can learn from someone. You may just need to filter through a lot of stuff to find it.
