Agdam Mosque was one of the few buildings left standing as Azerbaijani forces regained control of the Agdam region, as seen on Sunday.

The structure of the double-minarets mosque, built in the 19th century, could be seen whole and standing, while buildings in its surroundings were left in ruins.

On Friday, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced that the national army entered the Agdam district upon the peace agreement signed between Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia on November 9.

Following weeks of hostilities, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a Russian-brokered deal to end the fighting over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Under the terms of the deal, 1,960 Russian peacekeepers will be deployed in the disputed region to monitor the ceasefire.
