Top Farmers Markets: Pennsylvania's York Central Market

Central Market in York, Pennsylvania was built in 1888. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

It is more than a place to stock up on local meats and produce. It's a community gathering place with tables and chairs, free wifi, and a wide variety of food stalls and eateries. It was a great place to find edible souvenirs and to put together a picnic or lunch of local specialties.

Among our favorites were a Hawaiian smoothie from Brunner's exotic fruit, a savory braised beef pie from The Pie Shop, and Myers' colorful hand-rolles sand tarts.
