Luxury hotel barging in France: European Waterway's Le Panache

We cruised to Saverne aboard European Waterway's Le Panache along the Marne au Rhin Canal, which runs right down the middle of the street!

Saverne is a gateway city in northwest France that dates back to the Romans. It is at the foot of a pass over the Vosges Mountains.

Its main building, Château des Rohan, the Rohan Castle, was the residence of the bishops of Strasbourg. It was renovated by Cardinal de Rohan in 1779 and now houses the city museum of art, architecture and history.

Among the many historic houses is the beautifully embellished Maison Katz.
