THE WAY OF THE WHITE CLOUDS
Although Osho Rajneesh was born into a Jain family in the principality of Bhopal - which was an Islamic enclave within the Hindu state of Madhya Pradesh - he was strongly influenced by Buddhism throughout his life. In Buddhism, clouds symbolize impermanence and insubstantiality. They can form in a matter of minutes, and travel quite quickly, depending on the winds that carry them around. They can obscure the sun and bring about bad weather. When they descend onto the earth, we get fog. But there is also a silver lining to the clouds. Just like they can bring negativity, they also bring rain with them, and rain is the ultimate symbol of cleansing.
