THE WORLD... (by William Wordsworth)

"The World is Too Much with Us" is a sonnet by English poet William Wordsworth. In it, Wordsworth criticizes the world of the First Industrial Revolution for being absorbed in materialism and distancing itself from nature. The poem's main theme is the sea. It was first published in the 1807 collection "Poems in Two Volumes". Like most Italian sonnets, its 14 lines are written in iambic pentameter. This video was filmed in the northeastern Italian town of Caorle.
