Were the Prussians There at the Start of the Battle of Waterloo?
#shorts #history
The Battle of Waterloo did not begin with Prussian troops already on the field. The battle started late in the morning, but the Prussian army under Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher was still marching from another town after fighting the French earlier. One of their corps finally began arriving in the afternoon, around 4:30 PM. However, Napoleon Bonaparte had already spotted their approach earlier in the day and was forced to send troops to protect his flank. So even before they fully arrived, the Prussians were already shaping the battle and helping Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington defeat Napoleon.#worldwar2 #ww2 #battle
