Why Did Japan’s Torpedo Advantage Fade During the War?#shorts #history

Early in the war, Japan’s Type 93 'Long Lance' torpedo gave them a major advantage. It was fast, powerful, and left almost no wake in the water, making it hard to detect. However, this advantage slowly disappeared as the war continued. The main reason was simple: Japan kept losing ships. Destroyers and cruisers were needed to launch these torpedoes, and many of them were sunk in battles like Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. Meanwhile, the United States replaced lost ships quickly thanks to its massive industry. By 1943 and 1944, the US Navy was producing ships faster than Japan could destroy them. Even the best torpedo in the world could not help much when there were fewer and fewer ships left to fire it.
