pedestrians on the bike path

Maybe cycling fast being out of breath makes me sound aggressive but I noticed yet another group of pedestrians on the bike path and tried to let them know. The older gentleman said "I bet you cycle on the pedestrian side", I said I didn't and was "dismissed" by him. Treated like a wee boy and considering I'm now in the 49-59 bracket....
