agressive close pass

As I left the junction, I was aware there were a couple of cars behind me and gave them the opportunity to pass me as I turned, only the first one did. I would normally take the middle of the lane to prevent a close pass but in this case I got quite frightened by the noise of this car as there is a wall on one side and cars on the other so no escape plan. The older guy in the car just barged through, no concern for my life.

Where I turned off is a quieter road and inaccessible to cars as it crosses the canal and has a bike only blockage and I caught up with the driver later as I waited to cross a road. I found out at this point that a lot of the noise was his car rather than a screaming engine. I spoke to the police about this and they said they would have a chat to the driver as he was far too close in a dangerous position.

I've had a couple of people surprised the police didn't charge the driver with careless or dangerous driving.
