PM reassures Coalition of border plan ahead of National Cabinet
Prime Minister Scott Morrison is reassuring backbenchers he will work to come up with a solution on state border closures at the National Cabinet meeting on Friday.
“Mr Morrison told MPs that he hoped to reach an agreement with the premiers by not working on the reopening of states as such but the reopening of hotspots,” Political Editor Andrew Clennell said.
“So sections of states opening up with each other to start with.
“It’s not about states’ borders the PM told one MP, it’s about hotspots.”
During Question Time Mr Morrison appealed to premiers to open their borders so families can catch up with each other at Christmas time.
