PM reprimands premiers, chief ministers over 'quasi-borders'
Scott Morrison has again called on state leaders to remove "quasi-borders", arguing the National Cabinet "never resolved to establish national borders" as a tactic to the suppression or elimination of the coronavirus.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph's Ben English, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said when states and territories began closing borders at the start of the pandemic, did not give it much thought given other pressing issues the nation was facing.
"It wasn't the most pressing issue at the time," Mr Morrison said.
"In hindsight, I think we should have addressed the principles around how those borders were being created at that time.
"If we had that time over, I would've spent more time on that."
