How to Make Slatted Roman Shades

In this tutorial we will show you how to make slatted roman shades for your window or closet. A slatted roman shade includes pockets which are sewn into the fabric to hold wooden slats. These horizontal pockets are visible when the shade is down and adds a gorgeous visual appeal to the shade. When the shade is raised the slats aid in creating natural pleats in the fabric. This shade is rather easy to make and can be made without a lining fabric or with one, we will show you how to make it both ways.
