How to Sew Roman Shades Like a Professional

My daughter needed window treatments in her room, and I didn't have the budget for custom roman shades. I have the sewing skills of a freshman home ec student at best, but I was still able to sew these shades for her windows and I love them! I made sure to ask interior designers and other seamstresses how the roman shades they use are constructed, and I've essentially cherry picked the best and easiest techniques from both of them! I added black out liners to these and then embellished with some fun trim so not only do they provide the light blocking function of blinds, but they also add color and fun to her bedroom!
