Making A Massive Blackout Interlined Roman Blind With Commentary

This video, mostly timelapse, is of me making a huge lined, blackout and interlined Roman blind from a sweet Clark & Clark seagull printed fabric. The blind was commissioned by one of my trade customers to cover a set of patio doors and needed to be blackout and interlined. Normally I would use bonded blackout interlining and indeed that was what was ordered but the request came in very late and all I had in stock was standard interlining and blackout lining so that's what I used. The blind therefore had 4 layers of fabric in total and required lots of internal hand sewing to secure the layers.

Also, because of its size, the linings needed to be joined and traditionally those joins would be vertical to match to the joins in the printed face fabric but with 4 layers that would become very bulky and cumbersome to work with so I chose to make one horizontal join in each of the linings and hide them in one of the rod pockets so from the back there are no visible seams.
