Coach Natalie talks about is no contact the best method on today’s episode of Love Advice TV. Coach Natalie believes no contact is the best method for getting your ex back. No contact sucks. No one likes doing it. No one likes to stop talking to the person that up until now used to be their partner or significant other. Nobody likes going into no contact or radio silence but that is why it is the most effective.

No contact is the most effective method to get your ex back because you want your ex to understand what a life without you is like. The worry here is that what if your ex realizes a life without you is better for them? But if your ex doesn’t have a chance to see that a life without you is worse than a life with you, it is going to be difficult for them to want to get back together with you.

People are motivated by two things: the things they can’t have and the things that are losing or have lost. This is the type of motivation you need to inspire in your ex. You need to show them they can’t have you back, or that they can’t have you back that easily, or that they have lost you for good. All these things will make your ex want you more. The more you pursue your ex, the less they are going to feel the breakup, the less they are going to be able to understand or identify that they might regret the choice of breaking up. This can only happen during no contact.

The more you pursue your ex, the more you remind them that the possibility of getting back together is on the table. That eliminates urgency. Remember that people are motivated by something they don’t have or something they have lost. This is why no contact is so effective.

When we work with clients in relationship coaching, they achieve the most success with no contact because of the time and space it creates between them and their exes. It’s counterintuitive that the more space you give your ex and you give yourself from them, the more control you will have over the breakup.

We are afraid of no contact primarily because we want immediate relief from the feelings that are bothering us. We want to feel good again, even if it's temporary. But the problem here is that by pursuing relief, you jeopardize the results of your long term goal. No contact is like quitting smoking. It’s something you have to take day after day, moment after moment, craving after craving. Don’t look at no contact as forever. It’s only for today, one day at a time, one step at a time.
